So much of being a mom means being ready for anything. This time of year I find myself running around with the boys so much more, so I’m always trying to dress accordingly. But sometimes I find myself running from one event to the next with very little time in between; so being prepared with a versatile look is key for me.

But amongst all the schedules and busyness that goes into being a mom, I always make time for date nights. It’s so important to me and Garrett to spend time together, alone, just reconnecting and checking in with each other without giving all of our attention to the boys. Sometimes, as parents, we get so caught up in our kids’ lives that we forget to pour into our spouse, giving them the time and attention they need. We forget just how important it is to be a couple first, because ultimately that is where our strength in raising our kids comes from, in being joined together as a team.

When Garrett and I have plans for a date night I like to get a little bit more dressed up than usual. Depending on the type of date night we’re going on (some are more dressed up, others are casual dinners out without the boys), that can mean changing out of my sneakers and adding heels to my look at the end of the day, or simply throwing on a cute cardigan to dress up the white tee and jeans I was wearing earlier in the day. Either way, this is the easiest look for me to take from a day at the park to a night out.

I always have the easiest time finding my favorite styles when shopping with Zappos. Their one-day shipping is so convenient for busy moms, and I can order things quickly without leaving the house when there are a million other things going on. It’s been my go-to source for shopping the latest trends quickly for a long time, and I cannot say enough good things about the quality of customer service you get when shopping with them.

  1. I’ve had so much fun following your vacation on Instagram stories. Do you think it’s easier now that the boys are a little older to have date nights? And do you guys have a family member watch the boys or a sitter? I have an almost 4 month old and I feel like it’s so hard to get out with my husband just because she’s so little still. Have a lovely rest of your trip!

    1. It’s absolutely easier with them being older! We waited until Eli was 18 months before this vacation- I wouldn’t have felt comfortable leaving him for so long any younger. I have a sitter come and I trust her, but we had family watch the boys when I only had Bradley and Cash. Its so hard finding that trust for a sitter you dont know, but when you do find someone, it is SO nice!
