Joggers are such versatile pants. They can be worn dressed down as loungewear, but they work dressed up too. Here are a couple tips I have for dressing up joggers to wear outside the house:
- Make sure your joggers are tailored to fit you. This is key to the look. You don’t want to look sloppy, and some sweatpants fit a little looser than others, so making sure you find a good pair of joggers that don’t look frumpy and fit your body well is important. All joggers are going to hug tighter in some areas, and everyone has a different body type, so make sure to find a pair that you are comfortable in.
- Keep the top of your look clean and simple. I went with a plain black tee and a jean jacket. I also love wearing my leather jacket or bomber in place of my jean jacket. When your top is a little oversized, a simple tuck in the front also helps keep the look clean and tailored.
- Pick shoes that fit the style of your look. With these olive joggers I knew I could go a little nicer with my shoes because they have a trouser look to them with all their stitching details, so I picked a pair of gold loafers. With my grey joggers, they look a little more casual, so I tend to go with sneakers when wearing those (as seen in this post).
I know not everyone loves the jogger trend, but I hope these tips help spark some ideas about how to style up your joggers the next time you’re thinking about leaving the house in them! I know it can feel a little uncomfortable at first, but trust me, these pants are so comfortable you’ll have a hard time not wearing them out.
SHOP MY LOOK:
Love the post! Do these joggers stretch out? I’ve been tempted to splurge and get them but nervous they will stretch and be too baggy. I think you wore them on your long travel day and wondered how they held up. So cute!
They didnt stretch out! I had to retie the draw string a few times just from sitting on the plane for so long, then getting up to walk around or use the rest room, but the legs didnt stretch. Some super lightweight pairs I have get strethed and baggy in the knees, and these stayed fitted all down the legs. Really high quality.
I love how you styled your joggers! I really don’t know if I could pull them off, but you make them look so good! btw, I LOVE your lip color!
