AN EASY THIRD PIECE TO ADD TO A SIMPLE LOOK

A simple light-weight kimono is one of my favorite third pieces to throw on when the weather is too hot for a jacket. This one is such a pretty peach shade, and I love the easy look with distressed jeans and flats.

I made a tutorial on how to sew your own kimono years and years ago (it still remains one of my most popular tutorials), and it’s such a simple tutorial! I also relied heavily on kimonos when I was pregnant with Eli. Toward the third trimester I love to wear tighter tops or dresses. Then throw on a kimono because when I’m prego my bum grows about as much as my stomach! I wear a ton of them all throughout my Dressing The Bump pregnancy fashion series.

Tomorrow I’m so excited to hear one of my favorite people ever speak (watch my insta stories to see who!) Also, I just started cutting The May Dress! We have the hair, shoes, location, and a few other pieces to The May Dress puzzle complete. Now I just need to sew it! I have to be honest…sometimes I feel a lot of pressure. I have to get the dress just right because we have to get this dress shot on a certain date. So there is no chance for a “take two” on the pictures! But I also feel like I work best when I’m under a little pressure. Like it forces me to think quickly and I work fast and smart. I guess I like to live on the edge a little!
