Happy Monday! I feel like I say this everytime I wear red, but I’m not a red person. I gravitate to more poppy or orangy-red shades, but I feel like a good red gingham is an exception. It also gave me a good excuse to wear my favorite red shade right now. Truly, this shade of red is amazing on all skin tones; the color has so much pigment! It lasts all day with no need to apply a liner under. I almost always apply a liner to my full lip before lipstick, but not this one!

FAMILY UPDATE

• I dyed my eyebrows this weekend…super exciting I know. If you missed my tutorial for how I dye my own eyebrows you can see it here.
• We watched a movie a few nights ago about the starting of McDonalds called The Founder, and it’s the only movie since The Greatest Showman that I actually stayed awake for. (I’m more of a 26 minute Netflix episode then crash kind of girl). It was actually really interesting and inspiring! I’d recommend it if you are looking for something to watch this weekend!
• Eli is officially registered for pre-school. I’m kind of in denial, but also really excited for him. He won’t start until the fall, but his application included questions like “what does he call his bowel movements?” (stinkies), and “what does he do when he is unhappy or upset?” (scream and kick and face plant on the floor). We had to glue a 2×2 “headshot” of them in their information packet and that is my favorite part of the application. This itty-bitty little picture of Eli’s head glues to a piece of paper. I couldn’t stop laughing at it!
• I finished Gary Vaynerchuck’s new book Crushing It last week, and I think everyone with any kind of a business should listen to it! Get the audible version because Gary reads it himself and goes off script a lot with good information that isn’t in the book. I listened to it everyday during my workouts and it was so motivating.

THE MONTHLY DRESS UPDATE

The May dress is coming along! I haven’t talked much about it on Insta or my Insta stories, but just know that I’m working like CRAZY on this one. The shoes for the dress came in the mail this weekend and I screamed when I opened them. It’s like they were made for the dress. My neighbor stopped by for a minute when I had the dress pinned in my living room and she said “Oh my gosh, I think this one is my second favorite, right after The February Dress. And I think I might agree with her. But disregard that because every time I sew a Monthly Dress…it is my favorite dress.
