ONLINE RESOURCES OF THINGS TO DO WHILE STAYING AT HOME

Well guys…welcome to another week of quarantine! Are you mentally prepared for it?! But seriously, all throughout last week I saw some really great online resources that I think would be very helpful and useful as we continue the stay at home life. I rounded up some of my personal favorite online resources and some that are educational and great for kids, along with any discount codes or free trials they are offering.

Online Sewing Course

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO ONLINE FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME

Modern Girl Sewing: 40% off with code: STAYATHOME

My best friend Merrick and I created this online sewing course that teaches you all of the basics of how to sew and design your own clothing! We have a beginner and an intermediate course. Now is the perfect time to learn how to sew from the comfort of your own home!

Obe Fitness: Free 7 day trial

I signed up for the free trial this week and I am loving it so far! Now that all my workouts are done at home it’s nice to mix things up with these online classes. Last week I did a prenatal workout class, a strength training class, and I did a kids workout class with the boys that they loved!

Mixbook: 50% off your first book order with code: MS50ELLE

What better time to catch up on all your photobooks than now?? I’ve loved creating photobooks with Mixbook- great quality, great customer service, and I love looking through all our old books!

Audible.com: Free 30 day trial

We’ve had our Audible subscription for over a year and I love it. It’s really the only way I read books these days and we buy about 1-2 a month. They also have lots of great kids book options. The boys love listening to Harry Potter and Percy Jackson at night with Audible.

Musicnotes.com

This is where I go to get all of my piano music. They have every song you  could ever imagine and you can get it with or without vocals. You can even adjust the key before you buy it! I just buy the song, print it out, and stick the music in plastic pages in a piano book binder. The songs are around $5 and I love how easy it is!

FOR THE KIDS

ABCmouse (for kids ages 2-8): Save 62% off the normal subscription price at $45 per year or get 30 days free here.

I did this with Cash and Bradley when they were toddlers and they loved it!. Perfect for children ages 2–8, ABCmouse.com is the #1 learning app* for reading, math, art, music, and more. Young learners can explore over 10,000 learning activities across every major curriculum topic in preschool through 2nd grade.

Adventure Academy (for kids ages 8-13): Save 62% off the normal subscription price at $45 per year or get 30 days free here.

From the same makers as ABCmouse, I’m so glad they came out with one for older kids! Immerse your children in an interactive, virtual world. Adventure Academy focuses on high-priority school subjects such as math, language arts, social studies, and more in a highly engaging and educational environment.

Khan Academy: Free

A totally free online teaching resource that covers a wide range of topics. They mapped out a very reasonable “schooling from home” schedule here with links to courses for all grades and great suggestions for kids podcasts.

Revolution Math: Get your first month for $1 with code: ELLE1

I used this with Bradley last summer when he was struggling a bit in math and I love this resource so much. Live video chats with instructors made it fun for him to learn math and I loved every instructor we had.

Starfall: Free + subscription

I used this app on my phone and on my laptop to help Bradley learn his letters while I was nursing Cash. There is a lot of good content available for free, and a subscription unlocks even more lessons.

Epic: Free 30 day trial.

My kids use this at their school all the time. It’s a great online resource for books (fiction, non-fiction, STEM, Biographies, Graphic novels, & more).
