UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH: BEAUTY GLAM NOW

With all the directions that my life is currently pulling me in, I really appreciate a good blog that I can hop on and get great style tips and trends, like “boom!  this is hot/beautiful/well designed.  you are now in the know and can go back to building that train track.”  I would love to spend hours perusing the deep dark hole Pinterest, but sometimes all I have are 3 minutes.  Maybe.  The babes over at Beauty Glam Now skim all the good stuff off the top and keep you hip and current.  Not that I’m all that hip.  I made a Spice Girls reference with my babysitter last weekend and got a great big blank stare.

Hop on over to Beauty Glam Now and take a gander through their Gold Hanger Favs, past Trend Reports, and favorite recipes.  They are a fantastic follow on Instagram as well.  Your babysitter will thank me later.

MOMEGRANATE

I’m going to make a confession.  Sometimes….I’m a lazy pinner.  That repin button and I are on a first name basis and I’ve really gotten out of the habit of pinning things from sites other than Pinterest.   But let me tell you, after browsing through Momegranate.com, I had created 5 pins in the first 10 minutes. 
Momegranate is the hot new site run by 5 trendy gorgeous moms that do all the product scouring for you.  Again…something that requires less work from me.  Momegranate features 5 products a day that fit into categories like baby, kitchen, style, pamper, etc.  And since these moms are in the know, you better believe these products are always fresh and pinworthy.  I found myself wanting to remember some of the items for baby showers, weddings, or birthday presents.  Not only is it great for me, but it also works as the coolest gift-guide site ever.  Browse through their site, blog (that highlights other amazing moms), or follow them on facebook, twitter, pinterest, or instagram.

Featured: Striped Cardigan on Ucreate

So surprised and thrilled to see my striped cardigan featured on Ucreate today!  BIG thank you to Kari, and a BIG welcome to all the new followers!
On a side note, you guys should see my sewing room today.  Thread and fabric everywhere.   I am constantly straightening and re-straightening, because it drives me crazy to see it so messy.  But I leave for DC in t minus 10 days and I am bound and determined to finish a clients custom dress order by the end of the week.  I can’t wait to show everything to you!

maxi

I’m talking about the dress…… not the pad.  Anthro just came out with some gorgeous maxi dresses for spring.  
 
 
We have been having some beautiful spring weather these past few days, so I think that’s a big part of why I have spring wardrobe on the brain. 
With some flat sandals, hair in a high loose bun, and some red lipstick these could look lovely.

Sew News

I had a very unexpected surprise waiting for me in my inbox this morning.  I was contacted by the editor-in-chief of Sew News magazine, and they want to feature my Pinwheel Skirt in their June 2011 issue!  I about fell off of my chair and  I have been bouncing off the walls all afternoon!
I am extremely honored and excited to be a part of this.  I will be submitting slightly different version of the Pinwheel Skirt, just to keep things fresh.  I know June 2011 is a loooong ways away, and I hate to make you wait to see what I have in-store, but I just had to share the news with you guys!
Speaking of the Pinwheel Skirt, don’t forget about Project Pinwheel!  September 24th will be here before you know it.  I am super impressed with the submissions I have already received and can’t wait to show off your talent!
