COZY UP

CHUNKY GREEN SWEATER | BLACK PANTS | BLACK RIDING BOOTS | LEATHER BAG | SUNGLASSES | WATCH | CUFF

I love how crisp and cool Southern California has been these past few weeks. Call me crazy- but sometimes I miss getting to layer up during Utah winters. Granted..I don’t miss the snow. Not one single bit! I guess I’ll always be a California wuss, and I’m just fine with that. 😉
I found this cozy sweater a few weeks ago and have worn it a ton. It’s oversized and soft, and easy to layer. They only have a few colors left, but I also wore this cowl sweater in this post and I love it as well. Cowl necklines are are always so cozy to me. I also just got this bag and it’s even more gorgeous in person! It’s the same shape as a Celine bag, but 1/4th the cost. It comes in 5 colors, and it was a close call between the black and this almond color

FALL COMFORT

For some of you, it’s been fall for a while. You’ve busted out your scarves and jackets and have been welcoming that crisp air. Over here in Southern California, it’s been sweltering! I am dying to bust out some fall clothes. But the weather is finally starting to cool down just a hair, so I’m taking every chance I can get to dress for the fall. Booties are one of my favorite fall staples. Easy to dress up, easy to dress down. But not always easy to wear. Some of them cut into my ankles leaving blisters, and some of them I wear only based on looks because they are just plain uncomfortable.
I was blown away at some of the new fall booties from Clarks this season. I wanted a deep rich oxblood bootie to go with this olive skirt, and found the perfect pair by Clarks. The best part? They are so comfy! They are lightweight and easy to wear. Two things I usually have to sacrifice when I want to wear booties. And thanks to the free shipping and quick delivery from Zappos, getting them to my doorstep was pretty dang easy too. It’s so hard to get to the stores during the day with all three kids, so I live for free shipping and free returns!

IN BETWEEN

Welcoming in fall with a few shades of olive. It’s still crazy hot in Southern California, so pairing a vest and booties with a skirt and tee help look like you are dressing for fall while still dressing for warm weather. Have a great weekend!

SHIRTDRESS SEASON

photography by Kendra Maarse Photography

If you follow me over in instagram, you know how much I love my shirtdresses (see here, here, and here). They are perfect for nursing, and it’s just an additional plus that they are huge for fall. I am loving this olive color for fall, and have found so many beautiful olive shirtdresses! I love the fabric of this one. Its cool and lightweight and has such a pretty drape.  (I will note that the slits on either sides are a bit too high for me, so I just stitched them together a bit down the sides and I was good to go) Shop some of my favorites below…

I feel like this outfit perfectly describes my style right now. Uber comfortable, slightly casual but also with enough style thrown into the mix. This top is on sale for less than $30 right now during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I am considering getting it in black too. It is great quality and has a beautiful drape to it. I can’t wait to tuck the front into jeans after I am pregnant. Also, the white top isn’t too sheer, so I don’t have to wear a tank top underneath it thank goodness! These pants are cool and so comfy. I wish I had found them earlier on in my pregnancy.
Last week I celebrated my 30th birthday. Agh! 3-0? I feel like when I was 28 I dreaded turning 30…but I didn’t have as hard of a time as I thought I would. I am comfortable with where I am at in my stage of life at this age. And I honestly feel like I am happier and more confident in my skin than I was in my early 20’s. So I’m just going to embrace this whole 30 thing. It didn’t hurt that Garrett took be to the coolest restaurant ever to celebrate. If you have a special occasion and close to West Hollywood you have to check out Barton G. Their food presentation is out of control!

ARMY GREEN SPRING

TOP AND JACKET: A PEA IN THE POD (both would work great not pregnant! I am planning on wearing them long after my pregnancy) | JEANS: A PEA IN THE POD (SAME JEANS NON MATERNITY HERE) | BOOTIES: SOLE SOCIETY (30% off + free shipping today and tomorrow on all spring booties!) | BAG: NORDSTROM | SUNGLASSES: SIMILAR | WATCH: ARVO | JEWELRY: HERE AND HERE

While spring brights are so much fun to wear, some days I really dig a neutral color palate. This army green light jacket is perfect for the spring. It is so light that it doesn’t have to be chilly to wear it. And it is super soft. It may say maternity, but there is no way I’m putting it away once the baby is here! Pairing it with an eyelet top keeps the look light and fresh.

And good news for all of you on the hunt for the perfect spring booties! Today and tomorrow only, Sole Society is taking 30% off their spring booties, plus free shipping! The ones I am wearing here are super comfy. I also have these booties (from this post) and they are on sale too! I rounded up a few of my favorites below:

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

STYLING FOR SPRING

TOP: ASOS | PANTS: DITTOS (SIMILAR) | SHOES: SHOEMINT (SOLD OUT, SIMILAR HERE) | BAG: STELLA & DOT | NECKLACE: BAUBLEBAR | SUNGLASSES: RAY BAN | WATCH: ARVO | BRACELET: GORJANA | EARRINGS: HOUSE OF HARLOW | NAILS: CHINA GLAZE ‘EVENING SEDUCTION’ | PHONE CASE: SONIX CASES

Spring is starting to peak it’s way onto the scene and I am so excited. While it might still be cold and snowy in half the country, there are still easy transitions you can make with your wardrobe that can be perfectly appropriate for Spring. (even if the weather outside doesn’t think so)
1. Add some white. White pants are a great Spring staple and can still be worn with a jacket if its still chilly out.
2. Lighten up your accessories. Trade out your black leather purses for something a little lighter colored and pull out a new style. Tote bags really read Spring/Summer, as do laser cutouts. (which I am obsessed with right now)
3. Color your shades. Colored Ray Bans are huge right now, and are a fun way to tie in bright Spring colors. (loving these pink ones too.  They might be next on my list!)

MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

Top: Nordstrom | Skirt: Leanne Barlow | Shoes: Nordstrom | Bag: Boden | Earrings, Bracelet, Rings: Gorjana | Watch: Michael Kors
Our Take A Bow skirt in Kelly is probably one of the colors in that skirt that I wear the most.  And that green with chambray is my favorite color combination.  Add it with a bit of leopard, and its pretty much a match made in heaven!
