We’ve needed to replace our mattress for a while, but I’ve always had it low on my to do list. However, Garrett and I kept waking up with sore backs, and by the time my second trimester rolled around, I knew I needed to make a new mattress a top priority before I got to my third trimester!
I asked a handful of my girlfriends and readers which mattress they had, and many of them recommended Tuft & Needle. I did some research on my own and really liked the idea of their hybrid mattress. I’ve never been a big fan of memory foam, and Garrett and I both usually gravitate to a mattress with springs. I really liked that the hybrid was a mix of springs wrapped in a plush pillow top filled with an adaptive foam that doesn’t cause you to sink all the way down into the mattress.
We finally pulled the trigger on a king size Hybrid Tuft & Needle mattress and we are both so glad we did! My tired pregnant back thanks me every morning!
How a Tuft & Needle bed works
The mattress came delivered right to our door in a box, and setting up the bed was super easy. We just opened the box and slowly cut open the plastic packaging as we rolled the mattress onto our bed and then it slowly expanded and opened up to our bed! I also love that Tuft & Needle mattresses come with a 100-Night Sleep Trial and a hassle free returns process, so I really felt like I was able to make sure that I loved the mattress before fully committing to it.
King vs. California King
I also wanted to point out that our old mattress was a California King, and we went with a King this time around. I am so happy with this decision! Our California King was longer and slightly more narrow. I love how much wider the King mattress is! We usually end up with Eli climbing into our bed at some point during the night, and we don’t even notice him. There is so much room I’m not even totally concerned if he is in our bed while I’m up nursing the baby at night! Garrett and I aren’t super tall people, so the added length on the California King wasn’t a big selling point for us and I’m so happy we went with a King.
My thoughts after using our new mattress for a few weeks
After sleeping on our Hybrid Tuft & Needle mattress for a few weeks now I can confidently say that I love this mattress! It offers the support and softness that we were both looking for, and I am so happy to finally get a great night’s sleep while being 8 months pregnant! If you are in the market for a new bed I would highly recommend the Tuft & Needle.
