Happy weekend everyone! Here are a few snaps of some of the oufits I have worn over on my instagram this past week. (if you aren’t following me over there I would love to have you follow along!) Each item I am wearing is linked below the picture!
PINK BLAZER (sold out, similar style here + here + color here) | WHITE TOP | JEANS | HEELS | PURSE | CUFF BRACELET

These jeans are super soft and so flattering. I was a little on the fence about getting a pair of flairs, but these ones are like magic. I love them! Every time I wear them Garrett tells me how much he loves them…so that must mean they are really good if the husband approves!

This skirt is like a work of art. The quality of it is incredible for the price too! It’s make out of this thick scuba material that is really cool, and feels extremely durable. I bought this thinking it probably wasn’t going to be as great as the photo of it online, but it is better in person, trust me.

The photo doesn’t do the true vibrance of this suit justice. It is the most gorgeous bright fuchsia. It’s a very high quality suit, and the ruching  is flattering and forgiving. It also has full coverage on the bum (which is super important to me when I am chasing my kids around on the beach), and it’s long enough that I’m not pulling the top up and the bottom down all the time.

BLACK TOP | LONG VEST (sold out, similar here) | RIPPED DENIM | BLACK BOOTIES (limited sizes, similar here) | INITIAL NECKLACE | LONG NECKLACE | WATCH

These jeans are by far my most word distressed jeans. Super comfy and they hold their shape. Love them!

GREY PLEATED TOP (currently sold out, but similar top here) | BLUE KNIT PENCIL SKIRT (comes in 4 colors!) | COGNAC FLATS | BAG
I was browsing through Nordstrom the other day, and I found so many great Vince Camuto pieces in for Spring. Have you seen some of their new items? So many of them are perfectly minimal and basic, but always have a little twist somewhere that makes the item unique. Like the pleating on the back of this top, or the weaving on these flats (so comfy!). The price point is pretty spot on, especially for the quality that you get.
This stretchy knit skit is so unbelievably soft, and it just came out in 4 different colors! (black, pink, red, and blue). I don’t know why it’s so hard to find a simple solid color pencil skirt, but I look every season, and I just end up making myself one because I can’t ever find one in stores. I was so excited to find this one, and for only $50. It does run big, so size down. Knit pencil skirts don’t usually last very long on, so the sell out risk on this item is pretty high. Snatch one up for Spring while you can!
I’ve rounded up a few more great closet Spring staples from Vince Camuto below…
  • I feel like I have seen these cute cut out sandals all over Instagram. They would be so darling with a white sundress!
  • In addition to the knit pencil skirt, I’m also loving this lace overlay pencil skirt. So pretty and feminine (and it comes in 3 colors).
  • Loving the print on this floral dress.
  • Perforated loafers are huge for Spring, and these are the cutest white ones I’ve seen.
  • This soft slouchy grey top is definitely a closet staple. The fabric is cool and light weight, and I love the long back hem.
  • You can’t go wrong with the perfect minimal white blazer

I’m always a sucker for a black and white look. Especially stripes. You may have seen this striped diaper bag over on my Instagram a few days ago. Diaper bags can be tricky to pick. It’s going to be a bag you use just about every day for a year, so it has to be something that you love and that’s extremely well made. This striped diaper bag from Seaport Stitches hooked me with the the classic stripes and clean design, and I was so impressed at the quality of the bag. The real leather strap, the pockets, and the gold hardware are some of my favorite details.
Seaport Stitches is currently over on kickstarter, and it’s a great chance to grab one of these diaper bags at a discounted rate. The company was created by a mom who couldn’t find the kind of diaper bag she was looking for, so she learned to sew and designed one herself. A story I can definitely relate to! You can check out the kickstarter here.

Have you seen Rachel Zoe’s new spring collection over on Zappos? It’s feminine and pretty with lots of fringe and lace detailing. If you haven’t seen her collection, go check out this video featuring her lookbook. It’s amazing! I’ve admired Rachel as a designer for forever, and I have been drooling over this dress for months. Isn’t it amazing? It fits my personal style perfectly! The fabric is an intricate knit, and I love the placement of the fringe! Long sleeved dresses have really made a comeback and feel so regal to me. Since I wanted to let the dress do all the talking, I kept my jewelry and hair pretty simple and minimal. I love this gorgeous stone ring with it. It adds just enough pop of color in the jewelry.

Style is a non-verbal way of expressing your personality and I love pulling together looks that reflect me. Zappos always has so many amazing pieces to choose from. And I love that they are a one stop shop!

Summer is just around the corner and we have a few fun family trips planned. I’ve had my eye out for a good pair of summer sandals, and I love these ones from beek. They are made from 100% leather, so they are long lasting and durable. I’ve been wearing them constantly the past couple of weeks, and I can already tell that my foot is starting to mold into the leather, making them super comfy. I also love that beek gives back by donating a meal to a child in need with each purchase!

I plan on getting a lot of long walks on the beach out of these guys. They have a really great minimal and classic selection of styles (you can check them out here). Flats are such a necessity when traveling, especially with kids! We are planning a big getaway at the end of this month, so I’m already mentally preparing myself for all the packing, planning, and walking involved. As long as I can get at least a little time relaxing by a pool, I’ll be one happy momma!

Mother’s Day is next weekend, so I’ve had my eye out for the perfect gift for my mom. One of my fondest memories of her growing up was her leaning over above me at the piano as she showed me how to play a new piece of music. My mom always smelled amazing. To this day, any time I smell my mom’s floral scented perfume, it takes me back to our piano lessons.

I thought a pretty new floral scented perfume would make a great gift for her this Mother’s Day. I stopped by Nordstrom, and they have so many new amazing perfumes out for spring. I own the original Miss Dior by Dior scent, but they have a new version of the scent called “Blooming Bouquet,” and it smells amazing! Right when I smelled the mix of roses and jasmine in this perfume, I knew it was perfect for my mom.
To keep with the “Blooming Bouquet” theme, I lined the inside of a simple white box with pretty pink roses, and I’m so obsessed with how it turned out! I love making a little mini presentation out of gifts. It really shows that thought and love were put into them.
Then, instead of wrapping the box, I topped it with a mini bouquet that she can use to freshen up her kitchen!
I also took a photo of us from when I was a baby (I see a little bit of baby Eli in me!) and printed it in black and white on some card stock to make a hanging tag. It really adds a personal touch that I know she will love.

I grabbed a sample of the perfume at the Nordstom beauty department when I bought the bottle, just to test it out and make sure it was a scent that would last. I love that Nordstrom does that. It’s also such an easy exchange if it didn’t end up lasting long. I might have to add it to my own Mother’s Day wish list! Nordstrom has so many other amazing new perfumes and beauty items. Have you seen the new Voluspa candle scents they have there? This one is my new favorite. One of those candles would be so cute with this wrapping technique as well!

I linked to a few of my other current favorite perfumes. I’m such a sucker for floral scents, and you can never go wrong giving a gift that smells like heaven!

  • This scent I can’t get enough of. It smells like floral and honeysuckle and it lasts all day. It is super concentrated, so a tiny spray is all you need for the whole day! I got 5 samples of different scents from this same brand and this one is my favorite by far.
  • I just discovered this scent early this week, and it is so pretty! It has a deeper scent, more romantic and rich. Perfect for a date night.
  • I have had this scent for a year and I’m still not tired of it. It is light and feminine, and one of the scents that gets the most use. It isn’t super strong, so it’s a great everyday scent.

It’s time for a new “The Top Trend” post! This month I wanted to take a simple T-shirt dress and show you 4 ways to style it. When it really comes down to it, the simple basic items in my closet are what get the most wear.

A t-shirt dress lends itself to be casual. It’s simple, comfy, and the fabric moves and breaths easily. It’s a great alternative to jeans when you are running errands, especially on a hot day. And I love it paired with this suede baseball cap!

With a solid color t-shirt dress, I love adding a fun colorful heel. I love the royal blue on this pair (I wore them out to a girls night this week and walked a block in them no problem! They are super comfy). I kept the clutch the same color as the dress to let the shoes do most of the talking in this look.

A t-shirt dress is also a great option as a coverup to the beach. I added some pattern to this look with a big floppy striped hat, and threw on some comfy neutral wedges.

The t-shirt dress is kind of like a blank slate, so you can pair lots of fun statement pieces with it. I’ve had my eye out for a good pair of gladiator sandals for this summer, and I love these ones! Since the neck on this dress is so high, I love the look of a statement necklace with it. The necklace is bold, and the shoes are bold, but they are far enough away from each other in this look that I don’t think it’s too busy.

This dress was easy to wear, easy to style…and easy to order! I am completely obsessed with Zappos’s one day shipping. I’ve been ordering directly from the Zappos app on my phone and it’s quite addicting.

Months ago I was approached by BYUtv about participating in a new show they were launching called Random Acts. They described it as being “like the show Punk’D, but with a random act of kindness instead of a prank.” They told me they were going to make a young girl, named Shelby’s, dream come true. This interested me immediately, and I couldn’t wait to hear more details. Our world needs a whole lot more love in it, and the opportunity to help spread kindness and charity was something I could really get behind. The show premiered last night, and it was so fun to get to see everything come together! There was a ton that went into prepping for this show, and we spent two full days filming at the Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. So I want to give you a little behind the scenes look of what went on to pull off such an amazing random act…
On our first call with the producers, they told us a little more about Shelby’s background. Shelby was born with some debilitating heath issues. I don’t want to go into too many of the details because I want you all to watch it for yourself (you can view it here), but Shelby’s lifelong dream was to be able to play in the Orchestra at Temple Square. She has had a really rough few years with her health, and these dreams had to be put on hold. The show Random Acts was planning on surprising her with the opportunity to be able to perform with the orchestra and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir! Her dream come true! They asked me to help style her for this special performance, and hand select a brand new wardrobe for her to take home. I jumped at the chance to be involved!
I flew up to Utah and met up with the crew and one of my very best friends, Abby from Twist Me Pretty, and the crazy talented Brittany from The House Lars Built.
Emily and Aaron are the hosts of the show and they showed us the ropes on how we would pull this all off. There was such positive happy energy between all of us and the crew. They were all so kind and accommodating. We all shared the same goal of making the day just right for Shelby. That kindness and love for her really propelled us through the weekend of filming.
Abby was in charge of doing Shelby’s hair and makeup and Brittany was in charge of dressing up the space we would be filming, and giving Shelby a true party. It was such a dream team! We prepped all day Saturday before the official performance Sunday.
I was given Shelby’s height and measurements and a few photos to dress and style her. I wanted to make sure that she had plenty of options of dresses to choose from for the performance, so I basically ordered the entire internet. I mean…look at all those boxes!
We spent Saturday morning unboxing all the supplies and getting the green room all set up. I definitely had my work cut out for me! I spent hours and hours (and hours) scouring online sourcing looks for Shelby.  For the performance, she had to wear an all black long dress with long sleeves. Because of her health concerns, she also had very specific instructions as to what she could/couldn’t wear. I ordered every dress I thought might work in 2 sizes just to be sure we would have one that fit. She had to have a beautiful dress that worked on the day of the performance and I literally lost sleep at night worrying about whether or not any of the options I picked would work for her.
These flats were my absolute favorite and I was so excited when Shelby loved them too!
This is just some of the amazing decor Brittany brought to work her magic. I loved watching her execute her vision of decorating the space!
Little Eli got to fly up with me for the filming! I was so grateful to the crew for allowing me to bring him (I’m still nursing). My sister-in-law Kate lives up there and was kind enough to watch him while we filmed. He was such a dream on the flight and during filming!
I picked out 3 additional looks that Shelby got to take home and add to her wardrobe. I tried the keep the looks all comfortable and easy to wear, but also made sure they were on trend and cute! Shopping and planning out outfits for someone else is so much fun, let me tell you!
Brittany made that darling floral crown for Shelby to wear after her performance, and Abby brought along all of Sephora to transform Shelby into a beauty queen. She selected the most amazing hair tools and makeup. And Shelby got to take it all home with her!
Pre show prepping bright and early Sunday morning.
None of us were really sure what Shelby’s reaction to all of this would be. We didn’t know if she would be too overwhelmed, or nervous to be ambushed with a makeover and perform right on the spot! When Shelby finally walked in the room after just being told her dream of performing with the orchestra was going to happen, we were all on emotional highs!
She was so poised and so beautiful and so grateful! She kept saying “thank you! thank you!” over and over. She absolutely loved letting us pamper her and treat her like a princess. It was easy to tell what a kind and compassionate person Shelby is. Her countenance just radiated and we were all emotional when we finally got to meet her.
We didn’t have much time to get her dressed so I was prepped and ready to help her try on all the different options I pulled. She was drawn to this cute pleated dress (it was my favorite as well) and it fit her perfectly! It was the very first dress she tried on! I can’t tell you how relieved I was!
Once we were all finished with her wardrobe, hair, and makeup it was show time! We didn’t realize that we would actually get to sit in the audience and watch Shelby’s performance and we were so thrilled!
Shelby was poised and did such an amazing job. I don’t know how she handled all that pressure without any notice, but she sailed through the performance! Her parents were so proud. We were all so happy for her and thrilled to be a part of such an amazing experience.
After the performance Shelby got to celebrate with all of her family and friends. It was truly a joy to be involved in this show. Random Acts is full of good people wanting to help bring joy to others’ lives! If you didn’t catch the episode on BYUtv, you have to watch it! You can view it online right here.
Did you watch the show? I would love to hear your thoughts on it in the comments below!

Nordstrom has so many new cute spring watches in stock. I’m loving this blush leather one by Kate Spade. It’s neutral and understated with clean feminine details. I also love this watch that is super similar, but it has a tiny monogramed letter on the watch face. How cute would this be for a Mother’s Day gift?

I love my classic gold watch, but the leather band watches are such great watches for everyday. I’ve rounded up a few more of my favorites below..

I have a million pink lipsticks, but every year around this time I go on the hunt for the perfect pink to wear for spring (last year my pick was MAC ‘lovelorn’). So a few weeks ago, I had an hour to myself and I rushed down to Nordstrom’s beauty department and went on the hunt for the best pink lipsticks out there right now. I tested out a ton in the store, and brought a bunch home with me just to make sure I got the right ones.

The winners were: NARS Claudia, MAC Saint Germaine, NARS Schiap, and MAC Retro Matte. I broke down what I loved about each one below (and which one is my very favorite)…

MAC Saint Germaine: This is a gorgeous light purply pink that is creamy with a light sheen. If you want more of a matte, just blot your lips with a tissue lightly and it will make for a pretty matte without drying out your lips. I’ve tried a lot of light pinks but they end up looking too white on me. The undertone of purple in this one adds just the right amount of depth so that it doesn’t look too light. I also love this color on brunettes!

NARS Claudia: This one is hands down my favorite. I’ve wore it almost every day this week! See here and here. I am obsessed with this pink/purply orchid color this year, and I especially love it in a lip color! Its bold, but not too bold. Sometimes I line my lips with my Mac lipliner in ‘Boldy Bare’ and that deepens up the color a bit. I’ve often wondered if NARS lipsticks were worth the higher price tag, and this lipstick is such great quality! It goes on matte (which I love), but by the end of the day, I still have nice even coverage. Lots of mattes wear off leaving a line inside your lips or around the edges of your lips. I don’t even feel like I need to wear lipliner with this one either; it’s so highly pigmented. If you want to invest in a great, everyday pink- go with this one!

NARS Schiap: This pink packs a punch! It is a true fuchsia, which I think looks good on so many different skin tones. It is super bright, but not obnoxious. Such a fantastic bright pink lip!

MAC Retro Matte: Isn’t this one pretty?? This is the only true “matte” that I grabbed, and the color is so amazing. It’s a deep pink, but definitely not a red. I was afraid it would look more red/orange because the tube itself is pretty red, but it’s definitely a dark pink. This is a perfect alternative to a bright red lip for date night!

Aren’t they such pretty colors? I wanted to pick the best out of every variation of the color pink. Which one is your favorite?

I have seen so many amazing dresses this spring, but my favorite style of dresses right now are midi dresses with gorgeous crochet lace overlays. As a clothing designer, I know how important fabric is to creating the perfect piece, and the intricate detail in dresses like this one is breathtaking!
I wore this navy crochet lace midi dress on my second day of the Reward Style conference. I saw this dress in a small boutique while I was up in Utah a few weeks ago. The store had just unloaded a shipment of dresses, and it was laying under a big pile of dresses that still needed to be unpacked. I saw it and knew it was perfect, so I had one of the sales assistants dig it out from the pile of dresses for me. It was the only one they had. I posted a shot of this dress on my Instagram a few days ago and I have had so many requests wanting this exact dress. I looked high and low for this same dress, and I can’t find this same exact one online. But I rounded up all of my favorite lace crochet midi dresses below. This dress is super similar to my dress, but it’s really pricy. This dress isn’t quite as similar, but it’s a great price point at $69.
Some of these dresses are crazy expensive, and some are more affordable. I decided to include them all in my roundup today simply because they are gorgeous to look at and I couldn’t not include them. So feel free to virtually window shop through the most beautifully intricate dresses this season.
